We have partnered with local farms to us including farms of the Renfro Family and Lawrence Family. These families have farmed the lands surrounding our distillery for generations. Farming, in general, is not easy and battling the loss of many acres in our areas due to housing development growth, each year gets tougher and tougher for them. We are happy to be another path of revenue for our local farmers and are even more thankful to grab their grains before they are mixed in a local elevator. We can tell you, sometimes down the particular field, the Corn and Wheat in your Bourbon Whiskey came from. Now, that's cool. That's Famer Select.
Scott Renfro, his son Wyatt and their trusted friend, Tim, harvest a crop ton of acres of Corn and Wheat throughout Van Alstyne, Howe, Dorchester, and Sherman each year. Thier family has farmed these lands for generations, and they plan to do so as long as the land is available. Scott, and the Renfro's partnership with us will be critical in our success and pursuit to support local.
The family farm is managed by Paul Lawrence and his son. The Lawrence operation and amount of on-site grain storage is pretty amazing. The farm is located on the border of Anna and Van Alstyne - Texas of course. It allows us to get grain grown from as closest as 4 miles away. The Lawrences primarily grow Corn and Wheat.
The family farm is managed by Bart Lawrence and his foreman, Steve. Bart is Paul Lawrence's cousin but came as a recommendation to us from Scott Renfro. Bart primarily grows Oat's and we use them in our "Oat's N' Honey" mash bill!
If you know anyone local to us who can sell in bulk, we would appreciate you putting us in contact!
